Recently, the university held its 2024 welcome ceremony for international students, greeting over 600 new students from around the globe. According to recent figures, the total number of international students enrolled for the 2024 academic year has reached 1,705.
“Dear students, you’ve crossed mountains and rivers to embark on a new phase in your lives. The university will do everything possible to create a conducive environment for your studies and lives, ensuring a supportive journey in pursuit of your dreams,” President Wei emphasized during the ceremony. He encouraged the students to value their time, diligently study Chinese culture and their chosen fields, and develop intercultural communication skills to become high-quality talents with a global perspective and open mindset.
PhD student Phong Thi Trinh from Vietnam shared her experience, stating, “The past year has been the first of my doctoral journey in China—a period filled with challenges and rewards. Under the guidance of my professors, I’ve explored the unknown and bravely stepped into new academic territories.”
Throughout her studies, Phong has actively participated in various competitions, excelling in calligraphy contests and classical Chinese recitations. “I have a strong interest in Chinese culture and history. I was determined to master the language and study in China. This commitment has guided me to where I am today, and I am immensely proud of my growth,” she said.
Wang Long, a student from the National University of Laos specializing in Chinese education, arrived at Guangxi University for Nationalities as an exchange student in September. “The learning environment here is exceptional, and the professors are knowledgeable and engaging. I hope that in two years, I will also be standing in front of a classroom as an excellent Chinese language teacher, sharing the beauty of Chinese culture with my students,” he expressed.
