KCNA- South Korean drones -invaded Pyongyang– North Korea announces final reconnaissance results

According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on October 28, the spokesperson for North Korea’s Ministry of National Defense released the final findings concerning the incident of a South Korean drone that infiltrated the Pyongyang area on October 27. The assessment verified the takeoff location, infiltration route, and purpose of the drone discovered within the North Korean capital region.

The spokesperson stated that a joint reconnaissance group disassembled the wreckage of the downed drone’s flight control module and thoroughly analyzed the flight plan and historical data.

Analysis of the drone’s flight control software revealed that despite South Korea’s attempts to evade responsibility after sending the drone unauthorized into the airspace above Pyongyang, their provocative actions leave them with no legitimate defense.

Evidence collected includes 238 flight plans and historical records dating from June 5, 2023, to October 8, 2024, with the data prior to October 8, 2024, indicating flights conducted only within South Korean airspace. The analysis of the flight control software also showed that South Korea had simultaneously prepared a plan for dropping anti-North Korean propaganda leaflets along with the flight plan. Should the drone reach its target for airdrop, the flight control module would send a signal to the airdrop mechanism.

Additionally, North Korea analyzed the flight data from the drone that entered its airspace and subsequently crashed on October 8. The drone contained records of the anti-North Korean leaflet drop plan and airdrop history.

The North reported that the drone took off from Baengnyeong Island at 11:25:30 PM on October 8, flying over Changwon County in the South Hwanghae Province and surrounding waters of Gao Island before altering its course to penetrate the airspace above the North Korean capital, flying over the Chollima District of Nampo City.

The report further indicated that the South Korean drone released anti-North Korean leaflets above the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and near the Victory Subway Station at 1:32:08 AM, and again released them over the North Korean Ministry of National Defense building at 1:35:11 AM on October 9.

The spokesperson asserted that the objective of the South Korean drone’s intrusion was clearly to drop anti-North Korean propaganda leaflets, identifying the South Korean military as the instigator of these provocative actions.

The North Korean spokesperson emphasized that a final warning had been issued concerning the South Korean military’s political and military provocations. They affirmed that if South Korea were to infringe upon North Korean sovereignty again, North Korea would take aggressive actions without hesitation, aiming to “make the source of all disasters and the base of provocations disappear forever.”
