Nwosu, Ex-NEC Chairman’s Death, Big Loss To Nigeria, Says Kalu
In an interview conducted in Abuja, Orji Kalu, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation and former governor of Abia State, expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of former National Electoral Commission (NEC) chairman, Prof. Humphrey Nwosu. Kalu emphasized that Nwosu’s death represents a significant loss for the nation.
Reflecting on the late statesman’s unparalleled contributions, Kalu remarked, “Prof. Nwosu was a remarkable leader whose attributes are hard to match. His efforts in nation-building across various roles were invaluable.” He encouraged current leaders to model their leadership styles after Nwosu’s exemplary qualities.
Kalu further urged the federal government to honor Nwosu’s legacy, suggesting that he should be immortalized for his dedication and patriotism during his tenure at NEC and beyond. He extended his condolences to the government and citizens of Anambra State, stating, “I was deeply pained to hear about the passing of Prof. Nwosu.”
Highlighting Nwosu’s commitment to integrity, Kalu noted, “Throughout his time as chairman of the NEC, he upheld a remarkable level of integrity in all his endeavors.” He added, “Nwosu will be remembered as a figure devoted to fostering a fair and just society.”
