Espanyol players line up before game with rescue dogs instead of mascots – video

During a recent match against Mallorca, RCD Espanyol players made an inspiring gesture by standing alongside rescue dogs instead of the usual mascots. This heartwarming initiative is part of the club’s campaign, “Los pericos no abandonen!” or “The parakeets don’t abandon!” The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness about the issue of abandoned dogs and encourage their adoption into loving homes.

Last season, the efforts of this campaign resulted in the rescue of 11 dogs from the streets, along with the donation of over 2,000 kilograms of food and essential supplies, such as towels and blankets. This strong commitment to animal welfare underscores the club’s dedication not only to soccer but also to their community and the well-being of its furry inhabitants.
