Qi Che Company’s first export of refrigerated container transport vehicles is shipped and shipped
On October 27, 2023, a significant milestone was reached when 20 NX70D refrigerated container transport flatcars, developed independently by CRRC Qiqihar Machinery Co., Ltd., were loaded onto a ship at Tianjin Port bound for Kenya, marking the company’s first overseas export of refrigerated transport vehicles.
The NX70D refrigerated container transport flatcars were specifically designed for use on Kenya’s standard gauge railway, primarily for transporting refrigerated containers and general cargo containers. Featuring a dual power supply system, these flatcars are equipped with power connectors and backup lines, allowing them to provide continuous electrical power to refrigerated containers when connected to a generator. This advanced technology ensures safety and reliability, along with flexible and efficient transport organization.
The development of the NX70D began in 2023, with CRRC Qiqihar conducting extensive theoretical and structural research on adding centralized power supply systems to shared flatcars. After a series of successful tests, the design passed expert evaluation and the prototype was completed in February 2024. The successful development of this vehicle represents the first application of centralized power supply technology in railway shared flatcars, establishing a foundation for future advancements in this area.
To date, CRRC has supplied nearly 2,000 various types of freight cars to Kenya and provided maintenance services, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the Mombasa-Nairobi railway and enhancing the local railway freight capacity.
