China’s easternmost port- Inbound and outbound passengers in the four days before the National Day holiday increased by 143% year-on-year
Since the National Day holiday kicked off on October 1st, Fuyuan Port, located at China’s easternmost tip, has seen a dramatic rise in passenger traffic. By October 4th, the port recorded a staggering 1,860 arrivals and departures, with 17 vessels making calls—marking an impressive increase of 143% and 142% compared to the same period last year.
In an interview with a representative from the Fuyuan Exit-Entry Border Inspection Station, we learned that the busiest outbound travel days were from October 1st to 3rd, particularly between 5 PM and 6 PM. Conversely, the peak times for inbound travelers stretched from October 4th to 7th, between 5 PM and 7 PM.
To handle this surge in travelers effectively, the Fuyuan Exit-Entry Border Inspection Station took the initiative to release a notice detailing improved procedures and measures. Their focus is on streamlining the inspection process and enhancing the port’s customs capabilities, ensuring that all passengers enjoy a smooth and efficient experience as they travel.
