A 70-year-old Chinese woman in Flushing is suspected of killing her husband because she was opposed to the arranged marriage for her son.
On the evening of September 20th, a tragic incident occurred in Flushing, Queens, New York City. We learned that 74-year-old Lai Chun Ho has been accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Kuen Tat Ho, at their home before dialing 911 herself. According to law enforcement sources, the confrontation is believed to have arisen from a dispute over their son’s marriage.
Around 11:45 PM, the NYPD received a call from Lai Chun Ho, who reported that she had injured her husband at their residence on 23-37 120th Street. Upon the officers’ arrival, they discovered 76-year-old Kuen Tat Ho suffering from multiple stab wounds, predominantly to his head, back, and chest. He was rushed to the hospital but tragically did not survive his injuries.
In the early hours of September 21st, Lai Chun Ho was taken into custody. Investigators later found a kitchen knife believed to be the weapon involved in the incident. Sources suggest that the deadly altercation was fueled by deep-seated family tensions, particularly concerning their son, who struggles with mental illness. Reports indicate that Kuen Tat was trying to facilitate a marriage for their son, a move that Lai Chun staunchly opposed, ultimately leading to this heartbreaking conflict.
