-Eagle Eye- Hollywood mansion cost more than 5 million to renovate and is now for sale for 13 million

Hollywood star Jeremy Renner, best known for his portrayal of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bought a charming 1960s house in the Hollywood Hills about ten years ago, calling it his “forever home.” However, he has now decided to sell the property, listing it for nearly $13 million—roughly $9 million more than what he paid in the spring of 2012.

In an exclusive report by the Wall Street Journal, it was revealed that Renner invested around $5.5 million in extensive renovations during his time there. He made significant expansions to the home while maintaining its mid-century charm, adding a standalone recording studio and leveling the terrain to enhance outdoor living areas. Following a life-threatening snowplow accident in early 2023, he chose to recuperate in the home he crafted with care for his personal enjoyment.

In a heartfelt Tumblr post, Renner shared insights into his life: “I split my time between Lake Tahoe and Los Angeles. At both places, I’ve invested in amenities that you’d typically not find in a house built for resale. I installed a massive solar panel setup and created a large lagoon with a diving bridge and waterfall, designed by a team that works with the San Diego Zoo. While some of these features might be too bold for certain buyers, I built this house to be my lifelong home, tailored to my taste and needs.”

The modestly sized structure, originally built in the early 1960s, rests on nearly an acre of land, discreetly tucked behind walls and gates in a cul-de-sac near Runyon Canyon Park. Spanning 4,000 square feet, the home boasts six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, featuring an open layout complete with polished dark gray floors, wooden beam ceilings with skylights, and Fleetwood sliding glass doors that create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

One of the standout features is the living room adorned with mirrored decor, featuring a stunning fireplace and an upscale bar. Other highlights include a screening room and a formal dining area that connects to a gourmet kitchen, equipped with dual islands, top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a cozy breakfast nook with booth seating. The expansive master suite offers its own wraparound balcony, dual closets, and a luxurious bathroom.

Additionally, all four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms open to picturesque courtyards that feature a pool complete with a bridge and waterfall, spa facilities, and multiple areas designed for outdoor relaxation and entertainment. The property also includes a separate guest suite with a bedroom and a three-car garage.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, the 53-year-old actor and two-time Oscar nominee is selling the property to downsize and prioritize his recovery. “I need to start investing in other things,” Renner mentioned. He has recently wrapped filming for the latest season of “Mayor of Kingstown” and is in the process of writing a book about his near-death experience and recovery journey.
