On October 21, the Hunan provincial government announced a new wave of job opportunities for young professionals from Taiwan. A total of 83 positions across 66 job openings were made available by 49 branches of 18 state-owned enterprises in the province. This brings the total number of job openings provided to Taiwanese compatriots in Hunan to 1,304 this year, facilitating employment opportunities for 4,545 individuals from Taiwan.
The announcement coincided with the opening ceremony of the Third Cross-Strait Agricultural Cultural Exchange Activity and the XiangTai Integrated Development Forum in Changsha. Experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and youth representatives from both sides gathered to explore collaborative opportunities and promote integrated development between Hunan and Taiwan.
The jobs announced predominantly focus on technical roles, with 43 positions in areas such as machinery, electrical engineering, design, development, and technology, alongside 23 management roles in marketing and legal services. The employment locations are diverse, with 28 positions based in Changsha, 30 in other cities within Hunan Province, and 8 in locations such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Haikou.
Additionally, out of the positions available, 10 offer monthly salaries exceeding 10,000 RMB. Most require at least a bachelor’s degree, with 43 positions targeting candidates with this level of education, while 12 positions are open to those with an associate degree.
Lin Yisheng, Executive Vice President of the National Association of Taiwanese Enterprises, expressed the association’s commitment to helping Taiwanese businesses find opportunities in mainland China and providing a platform for Taiwanese youth to pursue employment and entrepreneurship in the region. He hopes to see more Taiwanese entrepreneurs and expatriates engaging with the economic landscape of Hunan for mutual growth and benefit.
