iHealth shares the effectiveness of chronic disease management and control in the state capital

On September 26, iHealth hosted a community engagement event in California’s capital to celebrate the rapid growth of its Unified Care program and the opening of its new office. The event, led by iHealth’s Senior Vice President Susan Wu, drew together CEO Jack Feng, local dignitaries, and healthcare partners to discuss the significant impacts of Unified Care in assisting diabetes and hypertension patients. Approximately 150 guests attended the gathering.

While iHealth is renowned for its orange box COVID-19 test kits, the company’s achievements in chronic disease management are equally impressive. The Unified Care program focuses on providing high-quality chronic disease management services for community members suffering from diabetes and hypertension, notably enhancing their quality of life. The event served not only as a celebration of the program’s successes but also marked the official opening of iHealth’s new office in Sacramento and the fifth anniversary of the company’s collaboration with physicians in the capitol region of California.

Headquartered in Sunnyvale, iHealth established its new regional office in 2023, responding to the rapid expansion of the Unified Care program in both the capitol and Bay Area. Last month, the company relocated to a larger office space, with a 2.5 times increase in staff. This growth reflects iHealth’s ongoing commitment to remote patient monitoring and chronic disease management, as well as the success of its innovative care model.

Currently, the Unified Care team comprises registered dietitians, health coaches, and clinical assistants, who have supported nearly 20,000 diabetes and hypertension patients. By employing a hybrid care model that combines online and offline services, the team offers personalized chronic disease management tailored to the unique needs of the aging population in the community. Since the program’s inception in 2018, the team has worked closely with physicians to bridge the gap between healthcare providers and at-home patient monitoring, significantly improving clinical outcomes through remote vital sign monitoring, nutritional consultations, lifestyle coaching, and ongoing care coordination.

Notably, the iHealth Unified Care program has achieved remarkable clinical results, with a 75% reduction in poorly controlled blood sugar levels among diabetes patients and a 45% decrease in uncontrolled cases for hypertension patients. Additionally, within just six months, the proportion of well-controlled hypertension cases increased by 78%. During the event, Jack Feng emphasized that the company has reached a 95% patient satisfaction rate, delivering the highest standard of personalized support, which is the driving force behind the program’s ongoing growth.
