Li Qiang meets with Prime Minister Rasulzoda of Tajikistan
On October 15, during the 23rd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States in Islamabad, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Tajik Prime Minister Rasoulzoda.
In their conversation, Premier Li emphasized the significance of President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to Tajikistan in July, where both leaders announced the elevation of China-Tajikistan relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era. He expressed China’s commitment to implementing important agreements reached by both heads of state, promoting traditional friendships, enhancing political mutual trust, and firmly supporting each other’s core interests. Li underscored the goal of further advancing all-dimensional cooperation to benefit both nations’ peoples.
Li highlighted China’s willingness to strengthen developmental strategic alignment with Tajikistan, guided by the vision of building a shared future. He proposed deepening collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, mining, and agriculture, while also expanding into emerging industries such as renewable energy and the digital economy. He called for enhancing connectivity and intensifying cultural, educational, and tourism exchanges, all aimed at providing a greater impetus for mutual development. Furthermore, he expressed China’s intent to effectively implement the outcomes of the first China-Central Asia Summit and to work closely on global development, security, and civilization initiatives, promoting a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.
In response, Prime Minister Rasoulzoda affirmed the deep-rooted traditional friendship and strong political trust between Tajikistan and China, noting that their bilateral relationship is at its highest historical level. He congratulated China on its remarkable achievements in the 75 years since the founding of the People’s Republic, while also thanking China for its long-standing support of Tajikistan’s development. Rasoulzoda noted that President Xi’s recent state visit significantly advanced the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations. He expressed Tajikistan’s eagerness to collaborate with China to fulfill the important agreements made by their leaders, enhance exchanges at all levels, promote the Belt and Road Initiative, and deepen cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, e-commerce, energy, industry, transportation, and agriculture. He also highlighted the desire to expand collaboration in the digital and green economies and to increase cultural exchanges, ultimately aiming for mutual benefit for both countries’ populations. Additionally, Rasoulzoda stated Tajikistan’s support for President Xi’s vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the three global initiatives, expressing a willingness to advance cooperation between Central Asian nations and China within the frameworks of the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in the pursuit of regional and global peace, stability, and development.
