Registration for Gaoyou Grand Canal Half Marathon starts, event size is 3,000 people
YANGZHOU, China (Reporter Fu Chunyang) – The 2024 12th Yangzhou Gaoyou Grand Canal Half Marathon is set to kick off on November 10 by the beautiful Gaoyou Lake. The registration officially opened yesterday morning at 10 AM. This year’s event has a cap of 3,000 participants, and registration will close once that limit is reached.
Participants can choose between two events: the half marathon (21.0975 kilometers) and a fun run (5 kilometers). The half marathon will accommodate 2,000 runners, while the fun run will welcome 1,000 participants. Registration will be open until October 27, but the registration portal will automatically close once the quota is filled. As of yesterday afternoon, more than 1,000 participants had already signed up.
Notably, this year’s race course has been optimized, building on the classic routes of previous years. The scenic beauty, cultural heritage, and modern vibe of Gaoyou will create a visual feast for all runners.
