Showing the centripetal force of overseas Chinese, the National Day Committee will visit Taiwan

The National Day Committee is organizing a visit to Taiwan from November 11 to 15, aimed at strengthening connections with overseas Taiwanese communities. This initiative comes as a gesture of appreciation for the long-standing support from the Overseas Community Affairs Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while also showcasing the unity of the expatriate community.

The primary goal of this visit is to express gratitude to the Taiwanese government for its ongoing support of activities for overseas Taiwanese. Committee members emphasized the significance of the National Day flag-raising ceremony in the San Francisco Bay Area, stating that it not only reflects loyalty and love for the homeland but also serves as a practical embodiment of citizen diplomacy. By meeting with various government departments and local officials in Taiwan, the delegation aims to gain insights into the current social, economic, and political landscape, thereby enhancing future interactions and collaborations between their host countries and the Taiwanese government.

The visiting group plans to engage in deep exchanges in cities including Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung. Members of the delegation expressed that in-person meetings would enrich their understanding of the government and lay a solid foundation for future partnerships.

Through these exchanges, the delegation hopes to raise awareness among the Taiwanese public about how expatriates demonstrate their patriotic feelings through National Day ceremonies and other activities. They specifically mentioned that, with the support of the Taiwanese government, they intend to continue hosting National Day flag-raising events in their host countries, promoting citizen diplomacy and showcasing the solidarity of overseas Taiwanese.

This visit marks a new phase in the communications and collaborations between Taiwan and its expatriates. The National Day Committee believes that this initial visit will serve as a strong starting point for even greater interaction and cooperation in the future.
