Tell us- how have you been affected by Hurricane Milton-
As Hurricane Milton bears down on Florida’s western coast, we’re eager to hear from residents directly impacted by the storm. With thousands already evacuated and the hurricane making its way from Mérida, Mexico, forecasters predict it will hit land on Wednesday. Tampa’s Mayor, Jane Castor, has issued a grave warning to local residents: “If you choose to stay… you are going to die.”
The Yucatán Peninsula has already felt the wrath of the hurricane, experiencing winds of nearly 155 mph (250 km/h) as it journeyed northward. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the storm passed through Mérida, a city of 1.2 million residents. Mexican authorities are actively working to relocate people from vulnerable coastal areas to safer locations.
With Hurricane Milton posing a significant threat to regions still healing from Hurricane Helene’s devastation just two weeks ago, we want to hear from anyone who has faced challenges from either of these storms.
Your safety is our top priority, and we encourage you to ensure your well-being and that of others while sharing your experiences. Extreme weather is unpredictable and poses serious risks.
