The 15th Golden Eagle Festival will begin with Hu Ge, Zhao Liying and others nominated for the Golden Eagle Award
The 32nd China Television Golden Eagle Awards and the 15th China Golden Eagle Television Arts Festival are set to take place from October 18th to 20th in Changsha, Hunan. During the event, the awards for Best Television Program, Best Screenwriter, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Host, and more will be announced.
This year’s festival carries the theme “A Celebration of Art, A Festival for the People.” It will feature five major activities, including an opening ceremony and artistic gala, a forum on the high-quality development of television and online audiovisual arts in the new era, campus outreach activities titled “Tracing Cultural Roots, Dialoguing with Youth,” the presentation of nomination honors for the Golden Eagle Awards and outstanding papers, and the awards ceremony and closing gala.
The opening gala will showcase a diverse array of performances such as group recitals, a digital situational drama titled “Asking the Vast,” and classic song renditions to vividly portray a decade of achievements in television arts. Utilizing AI technology, the event will take the audience on a reflective journey through a decade of cinematic highlights. The closing gala will focus on outstanding television productions and talents from the past two years, featuring the “Golden Eagle Festival Bullet Screen Group,” which will interact in real time with a global audience, sharing the glory of Chinese television. Attending artists will also engage in conversations with students at Hunan First Normal University, Yuelu Academy at Hunan University, and Orange Island, offering their insights for the future.
Since the selection process for the Golden Eagle Awards began in May, the organizing committee received 630 entries. The nominations, resulting from a combination of viewer and expert online voting, include 36 nominees for Excellent Drama, 16 for Best Documentary, 8 for Best Animation, 8 for Best Variety (Art) Program, and nominations across various acting categories with six nominees each for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.
Among the most anticipated awards, the Best Actor category will feature prominent actors such as Yu Hewei, Li Xian, Zhang Ruoyun, Fan Wei, Hu Ge, and Jin Dong. The Best Actress nominations include Liu Lin, Li Qin, Wu Yue, Zhou Xun, Zhao Liying, and Tang Yan. Exciting dramas like “Life’s Road,” “Three-Body,” “Asking the Vast,” “The County Party Committee’s Courtyard,” and “Wild Goose” are among the 36 nominated for Excellent Drama.
The festival is co-hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Hunan Provincial Government, and the China Television Artists Association, with support from the Changsha Municipal Government, the Hunan Radio and Television Bureau, and Hunan Broadcasting System.
