Chongqing’s annual hot pot feast kicks off with more than 60,000 exhibits on display
On October 25, the ninth edition of the International Hot Pot Industry Expo kicked off in Chongqing, China. With an exhibition area of approximately 120,000 square meters, the event has gathered over 2,000 participating companies and showcased more than 60,000 products.
Chongqing is renowned as the “Hot Pot Capital of China.” As an annual gathering for the global hot pot industry, this year’s expo is larger in scale, more diverse in offerings, and features specialized activities. The organizing committee has integrated resources from the entire hot pot supply chain, hosting over 30 professional exchange and trade events simultaneously. This initiative aims to enhance communication and collaboration within the global hot pot industry, connecting upstream and downstream sectors.
The expo displays a comprehensive range of products, from upstream agricultural and fishery raw materials and fresh produce, to midstream hot pot ingredients, seasonings, and prepared foods, as well as downstream hot pot dining establishments, new retail ventures, and related services. This showcases the vibrant growth of the hot pot industry.
This year’s expo has organized over 30 diverse professional activities, including conferences, banquets, competitions, and tasting events, providing attendees with excellent opportunities to discover new products, learn about emerging trends, and engage in networking. Exhibiting hot pot brands are showcasing their unique characteristics, attracting local and national audiences to savor hot pot dishes and explore potential partnerships. The venue is bustling with entrepreneurs eager to find franchise opportunities.
At the “Hot Pot Brand Franchise Exhibition,” attendees can find representatives of established Chongqing brands, emerging local brands, and well-known national hot pot names. More than 30 hot pot brands are actively engaging with visitors through pop-up shops, live demonstrations of ingredient preparation, product launches, and interactive prize draws. The grand “Chongqing Hot Pot World Banquet” area has become a focal point, drawing thousands who line up to experience it. The committee has even designed a massive hot pot that can accommodate 60 diners at once, surrounded by 36 tables, allowing 348 people to enjoy hot pot simultaneously.
The rich variety of exhibits, extensive product range, and diverse activities have attracted numerous professional visitors and buyers from across the country on the first day alone. In addition to industry professionals attending out of interest, over 100 trade associations, including the China Hotel Association and the Chili Committee of the China Agricultural Industrialization Leading Enterprises Association, have sent delegations to explore business opportunities in the industry.
