-Tanzhe Miaoer- + Jiafu Cultural and Creative Industries, buy cultural and creative products to support animal welfare and develop new attempts for cultural tourism charity
At a recent promotional event held on October 25, 2023, focused on the 2024 Resources for Cultural Tourism in Western Beijing, the 1,700-year-old Tanzhe Temple—located in the picturesque Mentougou District—is now recognized as the largest ancient architectural complex in Beijing’s suburbs. The local cultural and creative products, including series such as “Blessing Series,” “Academic Success Series,” “Tea from Zhangli Series,” and “Jiafu Coffee Series,” have become striking highlights of the temple’s offerings.
During the event, a representative from Jiafu Cultural Creation discussed the various thematic product lines inspired by local legends surrounding Tanzhe Temple, such as “Heaven-Sent Stone Fish,” “Copper Pot Buddha Porridge,” and “The Legendary Emperor Tree.” These products, which range from magnets and placemats to throw pillows, postcards, and scenic stamp sets, number over 200 and fall under more than 20 categories. Additionally, efforts are underway to develop creative spaces like the Jiafu Blessing Station and Jiafu-Themed Post Office, aiming to transform tourism merchandise into a vessel for witnessing and spreading historical culture. This initiative seeks to breathe new life into the rich cultural heritage of the region through innovative products, showcasing a blend of robust creative cultural potential and soft power.
Another noteworthy initiative introduced at the event is the “Tanzhe Meow” animal protection brand, aimed at improving the living conditions of stray cats in the Tanzhe Temple area. This public welfare project aspires to unite various sectors of society to raise awareness about the plight of these animals, promote adoption culture, and encourage people to get involved through both online and offline activities.
Lastly, the event featured the announcement of the 2025 Beijing International Mountain Hiking Conference. This project plans to collaborate with outdoor equipment and sports brands to create a comprehensive experience integrating sports, leisure, and tourism.
During the event, Beijing’s Western Cultural Tourism Investment Holding Co., Ltd. signed framework cooperation agreements with major organizations such as Alipay, Shunyi Cultural Tourism Group, Beijing Gongmei Craft Development Co., Ltd., and Shanhaijing Cultural Tourism Group. These agreements aim to enhance payment convenience for visitors, improve the quality and style of tourism products at various scenic spots, provide more diverse travel options, and inject new vitality into the preservation and development of traditional crafts through a range of creatively designed products.
